EMPOWERING STUDENTS THROUGH EDUCATION
CREATE
We believe that children should be inspired to create in many forms. As such, students at all levels participate in a wide variety of creative projects. This includes art classes, music lessons and performances throughout the year. Students are encouraged to find their inner creative genius!
LEARN
Through a proficiency-based program, basic skills are mastered and built on while at the same time providing an academic environment that fosters curiosity. We believe that learning occurs both in and out of the classroom and an effort is made to help the student connect his or her education to their own environment.
PLAY
Play has a definite purpose in life and we encourage this in many different ways. Washburn students have an active school life that includes sports, field trips and overnight outings. Through play, students learn how to interact with their environment and the people in it.
SERVE
Students participate in their community and beyond through a wide variety of volunteer programs including anti-drugs campaigns, human rights activism, park clean-up and even disaster relief. Washburn students learn the value and pride of contributing to making their world a better place.
